Thomas F. Boyer of Monessen peacefully completed his journey home on June 20, 2014, at the age of 86 with his family at his side. Born in Belle Vernon on Jan. 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Feehan Boyer. Tom retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, as superintendent of utilities, in December 1988. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and member of The National Management Association. A dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen, Tom served as an usher and member of church council. He was a deeply spiritual, thoughtful man who will be remembered for his story telling and love for his family. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life Betty J. “Toots” Boyer; his beloved son, Thomas E. Boyer; and sister, Louise Bennett. Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter, Karen (Thomas) Cullen of Elizabeth Township; and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Boyer of Washington. He was the proud grandfather “Pap Pap” of Jennifer (Aaron) Tullio of Canonsburg, Nicole (Robb) Barr of North Huntingdon Township and Allyson (Matt) Graham of Ross Township; and dear great-grandfather, “Pap” of Luca and Casey Tullio and Aiden, Ashton and Ava Barr. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen with the Rev.
